SoftWave Therapy

What is SoftWave therapy?

SoftWave therapy is a revolutionary non-invasive medical treatment that uses high energy sound waves to help promote natural healing, reduce pain, and stimulate tissue regeneration. Because the therapy is non- invasive, it is needle free and not require the use of medications. It is FDA cleared for various musculoskeletal and soft tissue injuries and is supported by multiple research studies.

How does it work?

A healthcare provider applies a handled device over the targeted area. This device emits high energy shockwaves that penetrate deep into muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. Shockwaves stimulate increased blood flow, release of growth factors and inflammation reduction. Unlike other types of shockwave devices, SoftWave uses patented technology that creates broad-focused shockwaves to a larger and deeper area of tissue which allows for greater healing and fewer treatment sessions.

What conditions and injuries are treated by SoftWave therapy?

SoftWave can treat a variety of physical conditions including joint and muscle pain, overuse injuries such as plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinitis, neuropathies, post-surgical healing, and wounds.

What is the treatment process like?

The process is fast and convenient. It typically lasts 10-15 minutes with no downtime required for recovery. Ultrasound gel is first applied, then the SoftWave device is gently placed to deliver the shockwaves. Most patients feel a gentle tapping or pulsing sensation. Some patients may experience mild pain or discomfort.

How many SoftWave treatments are needed?

Most patients typically require 6 to 12 treatment sessions. These sessions are done 1-2 times a week. The

number will depend on your injuries and response to therapy.

Does SoftWave therapy have any side effects?

Side effects are minimal. It does not cause bruising or swelling, although some patients may experience slight redness and soreness that typically subsided within 1-2 days.

Who is NOT a candidate for SoftWave therapy?

SoftWave is not suitable for individuals who have active blood clots, pacemaker or in an area where there is an active tumor. If you are pregnant you may be a candidate for SoftWave, please discuss with your provider.

Is SoftWave covered by health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid?

No, SoftWave therapy is not covered by health insurance, Medicare, or Medicare at this time.
